In recent years, the number of magnetic sensors introduced into complex electronic devices has rapidly increased due to the growing request for automatic systems. Giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) sensitive elements show very high sensitivity with respect to the applied magnetic field and in wire geometry they can be obtained using massive and cheap technologies. Although GMI of electroplated wires has been studied for years, many important points have not been analyzed in the case of short wires or complex configurations. In this paper, the structure, quasi-static magnetic properties, GMI (1-200 MHz range), and microwave absorption phenomena (0.1-18 GHz range) were studied in Cu98Be2/Fe19Co17Ni64 electroplated wires. GMI was also comparatively analyzed for different configurations of the sensitive elements with one or two wires.
