摘要

A radio-on-multimode fiber (MMF) transport system based on 1.55-(mu)m vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers injection locked and third-order intermodulation distortion (IMD_(3)) suppression techniques is proposed and demonstrated. Not only excellent performance of third-order intermodulation-distortion-to-carrier ratio (IMD_(3)/C) was achieved, but also low bit-error rate (BER) was obtained. Signal quality at the receiving site meet the IEEE 802.11a demands, with a data signal of 5 GHz/54 Mb/s. Such a proposed radio-on-MMF transport system is suitable for the short-haul microwave optical link.
