Three-phase AC/single-phase AC converters with resonant circuits for high operating frequencies

The paper presents two new three-phase AC/single-phase AC converters with resonant DC links suitable for feeding single-phase loads working in a frequency domain from several kHz to several tens of kHz. The power losses due to the commutation process of the switching devices comprising the output inverter of converters are drastically reduced and the resonant pulses have small du/dt values, allowing a high electro- magnetic compatibility of the proposed converters. Moreover, the command strategy of the original DC link circuit gives the possibility of achieving very small overvoltages on the DC bus. Finally, experimental results are presented for verification.
