摘要

This impact assessment aims at investigating the best way of using existing and new flood reservoirs to reduce flood damage with a view to the entire catchment. The study prioritises solutions that can be implemented due to their site criteria while creating both local, regional and supra-regional benefits.Therefore, floods need to be retained in places where a local reduction of the flood peak also has the greatest possible protective effect on the overall system.The impact is assessed by means of a precipitation-discharge-model. The focus of this impact assessment is to develop a method, which is transferable to other catchments. Using selected examples from the Isar catchment, the method and its impact on the assessment of potential reservoir locations are presented. In comparison to prior studies, this extensive impact assessment method based on a precipitation-discharge-model significantly changes the evaluation of reservoir locations in the Isar catchment. Knowledge of the flooding process in the region increases, improving the operational flood management on the Isar.
