Another Benefit of Hydro: Teaching the Teachers

The Pend Oreille Public Utility District (PUD) No. 1 in Newport, Wash., recognizes the importance of educating young people about the hydroelectric industry, public power, and the PUD's operations. As future customers and employees, these people will wield influence over the future of the district and, even to some extent, the hydroelectric industry. Yet, schools and their teachers often lack the information needed to educate students on the topic.
