Both Houses of Congress continue to support hydrogen fuel cell vehicle funding and are restoring fiscal year 2010 appropriations to close to Bush era levels. The full Senate now has approved an energy funding bill that included $190 million for hydrogen fuel cell research. This is considerably more than the $169 spent for fiscal 2009 and a complete reversal from President Obama's budget (which zero funded all hydrogen fuel cell vehicle R&D funding). At that point, the House and Senate will reconcile their two appropriation bills, probably by establishing funding at between $153 and $190 million. The final step in the process would be Obama's chance to sign or veto the appropriation.
