A recent court case reminds us that a hostile work environment doesn't end just because the target leaves the office, even for an extended period. The case involved a federal employee who had complained of racial harassment. (She was African-American.) When she was scheduled to return, she called her supervisor and asked to take another three weeks' annual leave.
