Flor 50 years HRM has been "the premier Journal for thoughtful human resources executives, theorists, and researchers" and the leading publication for applied human resource management research. Launched at the University of Michigan in 1961 as the Management of Personnel Quarterly and renamed Human Resource Management in 1972, HRM has grown in stature and influence with each passing year. Indeed, as the importance of developing a better understanding of the processes through which the workforce—and workforce management systems—create value for investors, employees, and society has increased dramatically, HRM has positioned itself on the leading edge of new knowledge creation and dissemination on these topics.
