Moving from practice to academia: three perspectives

Many HRD practitioners harbor the notion that they might like to move into full-time academic teaching roles at some point in their careers. The two 'worlds' of practice and full-time academia, however, are very different, indeed. This article shares our 'stories' as three people who have experienced both worlds and reports our lessons learned. Each story is shared in turn, and to conclude the article we have summarized the common threads - which will, hopefully, help to inform others who are considering similar career changes.
