Introduction: In Europe, the possibility of in vitro fertilization surrogacy (IVF surrogacy) may be prohibited, permitted or tolerated according to the country of residence. In Belgium, there is currently no legislation specific for IVF surrogacy. Its practice is proposed only by a few fertility centers because it remains highly controversial for legal, ethical and psychological reasons.
