More than 90 percent of the Section 538 rural multi-family guaranteed loan applications in fiscal 2005 were also awarded low-income housing tax credits, according to Russell T. Davis, Rural Housing Services (RHS) administrator. "This type of leveraging helps ensure that properties are affordable for low-income families," Davis said during a March 2 House agriculture appropriations hearing on the Bush Administration's fiscal 2007 budget.
