A federal grand jury has indicted 14 current and former public officials, developers, and contractors on bribery, extortion, money laundering, tax evasion, and other charges after they allegedly sought or provided payments in exchange for support of low-income housing tax credit projects in Dallas. The 31-count, 166-page indictment was filed September 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division, and released by U.S. Attorney Richard B. Roper on October 1.
