CDFI Fund Awards $5 Billion in New Markets Tax Credit Authority

The Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund has awarded $5 billion in 2009 New Markets tax credit (NMTC) investment authority to 99 community development entities (CDEs).rnThe awards included $3.5 billion in regular NMTC authority and $1.5 billion authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Twenty-four of the 99 CDEs received ARRA awards.rnThe regular awards ranged from $4 million in NMTC investment authority to the Northside Community Development Fund in Pittsburgh to $125 million to Coastal Enterprises, Inc. in Wiscasset, Maine.
