HUD has revised the list of counties classified as rural for purposes of the fiscal 2010 Continuum of Care (CoC) homeless assistance program. According to an October 25 Federal Register notice, the department has added six counties that were inadvertently omitted from the original list and removed five counties that were originally included but don't meet the program definition of rural. Habitat for Humanity received the Investing in Communities Award from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) at the MBA convention in Atlanta. "Habitat for Humanity builds more than houses," said MBA Chairman Michael D. Berman. "It builds hope for millions around the world."
