摘要

In Hebden v. Anderson, 2019 WL 1453277, Case No.: 8:18-cv-1063-T-33AAS (M.D. Fla. Apr. 2, 2019), the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida ruled that a white tenant alleging racial discrimination under the federal Fair Housing Act and related state and local provisions against her landlord was not entitled to summary judgment for claims that the landlord required her black roommate to fill out an application form and undergo a background check, where the evidence showed that the landlord required them for other white tenants. Further, no basis for summary judgment existed for alleged retaliation by the landlord in evicting her, as there was evidence that he had considered such action before the black co-tenant had moved in.
