Chun v. Del Cid, - Cal.Rptr.3d -, 2019 WL 1872913, B295140B295141 (Cal. App. 2d Distr. Apr. 26, 2019) was a decision by the California Court of Appeals finding that an apartment building consisting of separate bedrooms under the exclusive control of individual tenants, and with bathrooms and the kitchen having common access by the residents, constituted a property which was subject to the Los Angeles rent control ordinance as an apartment building, and that the exemption from the ordinance for single-family use dwellings did not apply due to the fact that the building did not house dwelling units consisting of two or more rooms, one of which was a kitchen, designed for one family for living and sleeping.
