Market week is always a hopeful time, and this one in no different. Echoing sentiments heard at the winter season of trade shows, suppliers heading into the New York Home Fashions Market this week tell H(O)TT they see opportunities to grow the business in 2014. While a volley of early winter storms put the hurt on retail sales in January and February, several suppliers said there's plenty of time to recover momentum. The expansion of e-commerce, especially by major retail nameplates, provides more arenas into which to move product. And as some major retailers assess their ratio of national brands to private labels suppliers are ready to move in to fill the space. Several said they are building on progress made last year.
