Steered by its religious beliefs and faith in a higher power, Hobby Lobby this year is celebrating its 45th anniversary as a Christian-minded specialty store offering shoppers a different kind of assortment from much of its competitors in the home sector. Founded originally as a miniature frame retailer that started out in the garage of a home, Oklahoma City-based Hobby Lobby has grown over time from a single 300-square-foot storefront to a 691-unit-and-counting chain, with several more new locations set to open later this year and in 2016.
