Leah Loudermilk's life took a sharp turn when her then-toddler daughter, Jillian, was diagnosed with severe allergies. The new mom got busy searching for chemical- and allergy-free lifestyle options but soon realized they were hard to come by. Along with the right foods and recipes, Loudermilk was challenged to find healthful home textiles that her daughter could use without having a dangerous reaction. Today 100% certified organic cotton makes up the fabric of her life and that of her family's in Amelia Island, Fla. Island Picnic is the home fashions manufacturer and e-commerce business Loudermilk co-founded, co-owns and operates with her mom, Janis Loudermilk - aka "Gran."
