While the spread between the No .1 and No.2 retailers in home textiles remains narrow and the top two companies have exchanged ranking positions, it's no contest in housewares. In Home & Textiles Today's first-ever ranking of the Retailing Giants of the housewares business, the world's largest retailer is also the country's largest seller of products in the category. The giant discount store's overall house-wares business is more than a third larger than the runner up, Target, and nearly twice the size of third-ranked Bed Bath & Beyond.
