New look for Old Town

FM Conway has just completed a major £1.8 million restoration of Clapham Old Town, designed to make the district's historic town centre safer for pedestrians and bring a new lease of life to the area's public spaces. FM Conway's project lead, Karl Flanagan, talks about the challenges of balancing the needs of pedestrians and road users near one of London's most iconic green spaces. At the heart of the historic district of Clapham lies the Old Town; a central open space lined with Georgian and Victorian heritage buildings which opens up to the 220-acre green expanse of Clapham Common to the south.
