Spending a free hour surfing the web recently I came across www.getbettersound.com, a site run by Quarter Note Press that describes in detail a book called Get Better Sound by Jim Smith (no relation). According to the site, Cet Better Sound comes packed with tips on equipment set-up and the equipment's interaction with the room. The aim of the book is to enable the reader to obtain the best from their existing system before any upgrades are considered.rnThe author explains how his 35 years' experience of setting up systems (Smith was once the US distributor for Avantgarde Acoustic horn loudspeakers) led him to realise how poorly most systems are configured. To counter this,rnhe explains, he has brought together tried and tested techniques 'to make certain that your current music system delivers a significantly more involving musical experience'.
