You can still hear 'New Dimension' and for her album debut the gutsy, talented Leeds-born singer has stirred four more of her own songs in among the standards. Her real-life lyrics are direct, if sometimes to the point of naivete ('Wouldn't it be nice to win the lottery?'), and she delivers with great panache and conviction, if you can accept the mid-Atlantic accent. Sonically, this is a clean, unvarnished recording, and Sarah gets intelligent support from her band led by Jason Scott Jason Scott (piano and keyboards), along with Adrian Knowles (acoustic and electric bass) and Tim Brickel (drums).
