Seventy five this year, pianist/composer Loussier's newest release on Telarc is also his oldest, as none of the 11 tracks making up this collection is a recent recording, and the earliest are from 1984. Indeed, whoever put the cover wording together could consider a career in politics. Starting with an ebullient 'E Major Partita', the tracks cut at Advision Studios in London sound fine, even if they're pumped-up with a little extra reverb to make the trio sound big and shiny. Quite different is the spacious, natural quality of the tracks recorded in Loussier's own studio near Nice.
