As our group test this month explores [see p41], single-driver speakers that eschew a crossover in pursuit of the perfect sound have a long history. Released in 2004, the TD712z speaker from Eclipse is one such design and now, after six further years of R&D, the company unveils the revamped TD712zMK2 Black.rnImprovements over the original model include a more powerful motor system for the drive unit using a new ultra-efficient high-power magnet structure, a redesigned damping system for the driver surround and the use of high-density zinc components inside.
