The recent, tragic, death of Gerry Rafferty reminded thousands of fans just how vital his contribution to the '70s was, first as a member of the group Stealers Wheel, then as a solo singer-songwriter. Great songs and performances abound in Rafferty's recorded output but his commercial high-water mark came with the international hit single 'Baker Street' and the album from which it came, City To City. Recalling the genesis of the album's best-known song, Rafferty singled out an all-night guitar-playing session at his friend Ian Campbell's mews house, which was just off Baker Street.
