In December 1946 the brothers Nakaichi and Jiro Kasuga set up Kasuga Radio Ltd in Nagano, Japan. It became Trio Electronics, Inc in 1960, using the Kenwood brand for exports, and would later rename itself Kenwood Corporation. But by June '72 Jiro Kasuga, then 54, had decided it was time to create a specifically high-end brand. With elder brother Nakaichi and other ex-Trio/Kenwood colleagues, he formed Kensonic Electronics, Inc.
