Along with its sequel, Teaser & The Firecat, this 1971 release established Stevens as a superstar - for years after, you couldn't walk through any university digs without hearing the thing in between Jethro Tull's Stand Up, the soundtrack to Woodstock and Joe Cocker's debut. And it was, as much as James Taylor's Sweet Baby James and Carole King's Tapestry, one of the seminal albums in forging the singer songwriter genre. It is, of course, rich with classics: 'Where Do The Children Play?', 'Wild World', 'Sad Lisa', 'Miles From Nowhere' and pretty much the rest of the set.
