There are no maids a'milking, no geese a'laying, but plenty of drummers drumming and pipers piping - my dozen for the seasonal holidays are discs both old and new, sharing but two qualities. They all sound wonderful, which is probably a 'given' for this seasonal teaser, but equally they include music that I can listen to over and over again. A reviewer needs consistency, which means keeping a system that evolves slowly, and a menu of music that can be played repeatedly without driving listeners to a point of insanity.
