Every vinyl enthusiast has experienced the woes caused by a poorly pressed record. Indeed, it's an issue that still exists to some degree even to this day. However, in 1982 a technological solution to the problem arrived, and it came from an unlikely quarter. At that time, Nakamichi was riding high on the success of its cassette decks - CD too was just around the corner. It therefore came as a surprise when the company introduced a new turntable, the TX-1000, priced in the UK at a heady £5000.
