A plateau for vinyl?

No less a market authority than The Wall Street Journal states that the surge in consumer interest in vinyl records may be hitting a plateau in the US, the world's largest market for recorded music. Not a wall - at least, not yet - but a plateau. In a piece by Neil Shah ('Why Vinyl's Latest Boom Is Over', July the 24th), the Journal presents unambiguous statistics from Neilsen Music Data to bolster this argument: 5.6 million units sold in the first half of 2015, representing 38% growth compared to the same period the prior year. A year later, in 2016, the growth rate slowed to 12%. This year the US growth rate was just 2%.
