Here's one of the great 'what if?' questions of audio history. What if British electrical giant GEC, having introduced its near-revolutionary metal cone speaker in the early 1950s, had continued in the hi-fi business, instead of quietly dropping out? Things might have been different for the industry as a whole, and especially for loudspeaker engineer, designer and guru, the late E J Jordan.
