I'm writing this just a few days after bigger crowds than ever descended on the zebra in Abbey Road to celebrate the ten-minute photo shoot, on the 8th of August that year, which made it the most famous crossing in the world. Beatles fans who turned up there will be treating themselves to the Giles Martin-remixed 50th anniversary edition of the much-reissued album. But in the jazz field, 2019 was a year when many a long-lost recording was issued for the first time, and sold well too.
