Einstufungen und Grenzwerte von Nickel und seinen Verbindungen

Nickel und seine Verbindungen finden breite industrielle Anwendung. Die Regelungen über Einstufungen und Grenzwerte von Nickel und seinen Verbindungen sind komplex. Im vorliegenden Artikel wird dargestellt, welche Regelungen nach EU-Recht beim Inverkehrbringen und beim Umgang mit diesen Stoffen gegenwärtig gelten. Auch die teilweise hiervon abweichenden Einstufungen nach TRGS 905 und die Luftgrenzwerte müssen beachtet werden. Die bestehenden Regelungen, die sich auf krebserzeugende und sensibilisierende Wirkungen von Nickel und Nickelverbindungen beziehen, werden im Zusammenhang dargestellt. Dabei werden auch internationale Bewertungen aus anderen Staaten genannt. Der aktuelle Stand zur Beurteilung von Arbeitsplätzen, an denen mit Stäuben von Nickellegierungen umgegangen wird, wird ebenfalls vorgestellt.%In industry, broad use is made of nickel and its compounds. Regulations concerning the classification and limit values of nickel and its compounds are complex. The present article gives an overview of the requirements applying to the circulation and use of these substances in accordance with EU legislation. Compliance must also be ensured with the partly deriving national provisions, viz. the classification according to the German TRGS 905 (technical regulations for hazardous substances) and the national atmospheric limit values. The author draws an integral picture of the existing regulations relating to the carcinogenic and sensitising effects of nickel and nickel compounds. In this context, mention is also made of international evaluations from other countries. To round off the presentation, a progress report is given on the assessment of workplaces with exposure to nickel alloy dusts.
