By combination of physical, chemical and partly biological processes in a robust intrinsically safe fixed bed process hydrogen sulfide from biogenic fuel gases, geogenic (depth) gases, natural gas/lean gas/sour gas and associated gas and from industrial production exhaust gases can be reliably and completely removed. For this purpose, specially prepared pellets or hollow pellets (UgnCleanPellets (R) and UgnCleanTubes (R)) are used. H2S emissions at any level are oxidized to elementary sulfur, whereby the exothermic of the reactions is used for the energy balance of the entire system. Permanently water-saturated atmosphere safely prevents thermal risks such as fire hazard or hot spots. Plants used in practice achieve a degree of purification of 99.9% in single-stage versions, so that a constant zero level is safely and permanently achieved in the case of two or (for safety or availability reasons) multi-stage systems.
