The Port of Goeteborg has bitten the bullet and its vapour collection systems will come onstream next year, reports Brian Warshaw. An undertaking given more than 20 years ago will be fulfilled when the marine vapour recovery systems (MVRSs) at the Skarvik oil harbour in the Port of Goteborg open for commercial operations on New Year's day 2001. The installations will be the first to operate in Europe for the ship loading of Class 1 petroleum products.
