Logistics facilities at Alfred Talke have burgeoned over the past year, with the company expanding the services it provides across Europe. Antwerp has seen a third Talke facility opened, with services offered including quay access for deep-sea vessels and a warehousing space of over 21,000 m~2 for hazardous and conventional consignments. The new space also has a filling line for liquid chemicals. The existing branch in Ludwigshafen has enlarged services offered to include a new silo farm, with 18 aluminium silos each with a holding capacity of 320 m~3. The German plant has also added a fully automated bagging and palletising line, and expansion doesn't stop there. The company has bought more land, with the view to continue the focus on growth. "A 10,000 m~3 logistics centre has been acquired, adjacent to the existing location, providing increased flexibility for value added services and warehousing," says Talke of the development plans. The expansion programme has been spread across the continent to include eastern Europe, where a new location has been added in Wroclaw, Poland offering hazardous goods shippers further warehousing options.
