The International Association of Independent Tanker Owners (Intertanko) released three new publications this past June, with information on various aspects of tanker operations and how to carry them out safely. A Guide to Crude Oil Washing and Cargo Heating Criteria is a comprehensive guide designed to assist the safe operation of crude oil tankers. Not only does it set out the criteria for crude oil washing and cargo heating, but gives background information on the properties of crude oil.
