Conference report the UK terminalling sector may be having a comparatively poor year in commercial terms, but that did not stop a healthy crowd gathering in Coventry last month for the annual TSA conference and exhibition. Talk turned to the role of human factors in terminal safety. Some 135 delegates turned up to this year's annual meeting of the Tank Storage Association (TSA), the body that represents the UK's independent bulk liquids terminal operators, which for the fourth time was held at the Allesley Hotel near Coventry. The day's schedule was arranged specifically to foster discussion and networking, with formal conference sessions taking up only part of the day. This also gave delegates plenty of time to peruse the goods and services on show at the 29 booths, which included offerings from tank builders, suppliers of pumps, gauges and other terminal equipment, vapour control specialists, training providers, environmental consultants and other companies of interest to the terminal operator.
