Chemical tanker owners and operators had much to discuss and learn at Intertanko's Tanker Event, held in Houston this past March More than 80 per cent of the chemical tanker community are Intertanko members and for the first time they got their own dedicated, conference slot at the association's Tanker Event in Houston, this past March 26-29. The event also saw the appointment of Greek shipowner Nick Fistes as Intertanko's new chairman. Among other executive roles in shipping, he has been chief executive of Monaco-based Seachem Tankers. Among Fistes' main priorities are membership involvement, the human element, the tanker industry's image and expansion of the Poseidon challenge.
