Drum users can cut their carbon footprint significantly by switching from single-trip drums to reconditioned or multi-trip units, a report prepared for the European Syndicate of Drum Reconditioners (SERRED) has found. The study, undertaken by the Dutch research organisation Tauw bv, concluded that the average carbon footprint of a single-trip drum is 30.7 kg CO_2 per drum compared to 9.6 kg CO_2 per trip for a multi-trip unit.
