Pro Petroleums terminal in Las Vegas, Nevada opened for business late last year (HCB January 2011, page 40). The facility has a nominal storage capacity of 330,000 bbl (52,400 m') for diesel, gasoline and biofuels and is linked via two 16-inch connections to the nearby Kinder Morgan pipeline. The three-bay truck rack has 18 loading arms and can both load and discharge product at 600 gal per minute. The facility currendy runs at an average throughput of just over 20,000 bpd, although days of up to 33,000 bpd are not uncommon and it is possible to wring 40,000 bpd out of the carefully designed equipment.
