According to Rhys Davies, though, not all companies recognise the need for specialist driver training and may be unaware of the complex regulations involved in transporting hazardous material. "Specialist training for drivers carrying hazardous goods is essential," says the company's commercial manager Gary Phillips. "Our customers demand the highest standards, but some don't fully understand the regulations about transporting these goods, so it's important that as their logistics company we know exactly what's involved.
