The 17th session of the joint meeting of experts on the Regulations annexed to the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Inland Waterway (ADN) - the ADN Safety Committee-took place in Geneva this past August 23 to 26. Ten countries were represented, ? along with the Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine (CCNR), the Danube Commission (DC), the European Barge Union (EBU), the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic), the International Association of Classification Societies ' (IACS) and the International Committee for the Prevention of Work Accidents in Inland Navigation (CIPA). Helmut Rein (Germany) was in the chair with Bernd Birklhiiber (Austria) as vice-chairman.
