Visitors to HCB Towers may have noticed a convenient little side room where we keep a coffee machine and a kettle. It also doubles occasionally as a smoking room, when the several flights of stairs are too daunting for the boss to contemplate. The room's open window looks out onto New Oxford Street, a busding thoroughfare full of cars, taxis, buses, trucks and bicycles all fighting for space and trying to negotiate the rather complicated junction with its contra-flow bus lane, one-way streets and pedestrian crossings.
