Serving the needs of "international players in the high-purity chemical industry", Rikutec, a Germany-headquartered manufacturer of all-plastics intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), expects its niche products to clock up growth of around 5 to 8 per cent this year. This, the company says, will be helped in part by continued switching from drums. "Over the past year the main problem was a lot of force majeure situations in the raw material market but for the moment we can't see this problem in 2016," it says. Meanwhile, on the products front, Rikutec has unveiled a new double-walled IBC suitable for the safe storage of dangerous goods. "That means our IBC is of course UN-approved and beside that there is a German DIBT approval for storage," it says. Similarly, the company has also unveiled a new double-walled plastics drum for the handling of packaging group I liquids.
