Years ago, I decided never to pass judgment on a work of architecture that I had not actually visited. Although I am used to reading architectural plans and despite how helpful photographs can be, my reason for this decision was that on not-so-rare occasions I had found myself having to change my opinion about a work of architecture after having visited it.
