摘要

A large number of simulations were carried out, using the two numerical methods ROLLSS and GL SIMBEL. Model tests in regular waves were performed, and the results were compared to simulations. Generally, the results from simulations and experiments compared favorably. Results were not as reliable for the frequency ratio of unity in following waves. Adequate validation was impeded by the difficulty to determine the maximum roll angle in the experiments because the roll motion still increased when the model reached the end of the model basin.
