Design of Chinese polar research icebreaker

摘要

Aker Arctic has been selected to perform the conceptual and basic design of a new polar research icebreaking vessel for China. A plan has been organized by the State Oceanic Administration (SOA), the Chinese Arctic and Antarctic Administration (CAA) and the Polar Research Institute of China (PRIC). The 120 m long, 22 m wide and 8,5 m deep vessel will carry advanced scientific equipment to research polar oceans.
