Has it been a quiet year for the manufacturers? Amid doom and gloom, it is the supplier who is at the sharp end of the equation. But whatever the economic climate, airports require tractors, dollies and ULDs. And innovation has not been entirely absent. Jumbotugs, for example, has decided on an alternative to diesel power for its latest small tractor. The T6 hydrostatic tractor (T6H) from Jumbotugs is a highly manoeuvrable compact tow tractor. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of tow tractors and flat bed trucks for use in airports and industrial environments. Developed to pull loads of up to six tonnes, the four-wheeled T6H is just one metre wide and a little over two metres long. This makes it ideal for use in areas where space is at a premium. It is powered by LPG, which is a rare feature in this type of tow tractor.
